Yemeni expert details the recent incident involving the downing of a US F-18 fighter jet
A Yemeni specialist in strategic affairs has provided insights into the remarkable operation conducted by the nation's armed forces, which successfully shot down a U.S. F-18 fighter jet.

Abdulsalam Safyan, a recognized authority on Yemeni strategic affairs, highlighted the distinctiveness of a recent military operation in which the nation’s armed forces successfully downed a fifth-generation F-18 fighter jet.
He stated that the mission was classified as a preemptive operation coinciding with the onset of US and UK hostilities against Yemen. During this operation, the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier was targeted.
He announced that Yemeni forces successfully compelled enemy fighter jets to alter their course and retreat from the nation’s airspace, directing them towards international waters in the Red Sea.
He stated, “Our struggle with the Zionist adversary persists; an adversary that remains content with its misconceptions about Lebanon and Syria.”
The Yemeni armed forces have reported the successful downing of a United States F-18 fighter jet on Sunday.
Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces, announced in a statement that an assault involving drones and missiles targeted the USS Harry S. Truman, resulting in the downing of an F-18 aircraft.
