Zionist regime initiates an incursion into Syrian territory following the takeover of Damascus by militant factions
Zionist forces have initiated an incursion into Syrian territory, specifically targeting the southwestern city of Quneitra, which is situated near the Golan Heights—a region currently under Israeli occupation. This move comes in the wake of militant groups gaining control in the war-torn Arab nation.

Israeli media sources reported on Sunday that Israeli tanks have advanced into Quneitra, situated along the border of the occupied Golan Heights, after intense shelling in the neighboring regions.
Israeli troops advanced into the buffer zone within the Quneitra region, initiating an artillery assault in the vicinity, according to a report on the Times of Israel newspaper’s website.
State media has reported the advancement of Israeli tanks into Khan Arnabeh, a strategic location situated northeast of Quneitra and approximately five kilometers from the border with the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
Quneitra is situated within the demilitarized buffer zone set up in 1974 between the occupied Golan Heights and Syria. However, Khan Arnabeh lies outside this zone, where the regime’s forces are prohibited from entering.
Resistance media outlets have corroborated reports of Israeli military actions, stating that these developments occurred following an increased Israeli military presence in the occupied Golan Heights. This move comes amid expectations of the collapse of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government in Damascus.
Local sources indicated that schools in four settlements in the occupied Golan Heights have been closed in response to the prevailing “security situation.” Additionally, reports confirm that the Israeli military has established checkpoints in the region to address the ongoing circumstances.
In a series of developments in the Quneitra countryside, at least four airstrikes were reported following the entry of Israeli tanks into the region.
Reports have emerged that the occupying forces are constructing a significant trench along the Syrian border. Additionally, they claim to have demolished several sites identified as weapons depots.
