Ahmadinejad to travel to New York on Monday

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will leave Tehran for New York on Monday to attend the 66th annual session of the UN General Assembly.

Ahmadinejad is scheduled to deliver a speech during the session. He will also meet with his counterparts from certain countries as well as Iranian expats in the U.S.

In addition, the president will address some news conferences and will do interviews with some Western media outlets.

Ahmadinejad and his Venezuelan counterpart will go to Caracas to sign some memorandums of understanding.

This will be the seventh time that Ahmadinejad attends the UN General Assembly.

The annual session of the General Assembly opened in New York on September 13 with a fervent plea for cooperation in tackling looming crises from conflicts to climate change.
