Iran issued a condemnation in response to Trump’s threat to employ military action against the nation

Iran has issued a stern condemnation of US President Donald Trump's recent threat to employ military force against the nation, labeling the remarks as both deeply unsettling and irresponsible.

In a letter addressed to the United Nations Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council on Tuesday, Iran’s Permanent Representative to the UN articulated his observations and comments.

Amir Saeid Iravani has criticized former President Donald Trump’s statements, describing them as reckless and inflammatory, and asserting that they blatantly contravene international law and the United Nations Charter.

In a formal communication directed to the United Nations Security Council, a representative from the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iravani, has expressed serious concerns regarding recent comments made by the United States President. These remarks, which were described as both alarming and irresponsible, allegedly included open threats of military action against Iran. The Iranian Government has urged the Security Council to take note of this disturbing rhetoric.

In a media interview released on Saturday, former President Donald Trump expressed his preference for negotiating a deal with Iran over resorting to military action against the nation.

In an interview with the New York Post, former President Donald Trump expressed a preference for negotiations with Iran focused on non-nuclear agreements rather than resorting to military action. Trump stated, “I would like a deal done with Iran on non-nuclear. I would prefer that to bomb the hell out of it,” emphasizing that, “They don’t want to die. Nobody wants to die.”

In a recent interview with Fox News, former President Donald Trump once again employed a combative tone, expressing his preference for reaching an agreement without resorting to military action.

Iravani has accused former President Donald Trump of making “reckless and inflammatory statements” that, according to him, clearly breach international law and the United Nations Charter. He specifically referenced Article 2(4) of the Charter, which strictly forbids threats or the use of force against sovereign nations.

An Iranian diplomat has criticized former President Trump’s “maximum pressure” strategy towards Iran, describing it as a clear breach of essential principles and norms of international law.

He asserted that the provocation is intensified by the ‘maximum pressure’ strategy detailed in the National Security Presidential Memorandum dated February 4, 2025. This strategy, he argued, bolsters illegal, unilateral coercive actions and heightens hostility towards Iran, flagrantly breaching fundamental principles and norms of international law.

Iravani urged the Security Council to break its silence in response to the audacious rhetoric, condemning it in the strongest terms.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has categorically dismissed and condemned what it describes as an irresponsible threat, calling for the United Nations Security Council to address the situation without delay. Iranian officials have urged the Council to reject what they see as brazen rhetoric, cautioning that the normalization of threats involving the use of force could establish a perilous precedent and must be explicitly denounced.

A warning has been issued indicating that any aggressive actions directed towards Iran will result in serious repercussions, for which the United States will be held entirely accountable.

He underscored Iran’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests in the face of any aggressive actions.

Iran has issued a stern warning, asserting that any aggressive actions will result in serious repercussions, with full accountability resting on the United States. Gholamali Khoshroo, Iran’s UN representative, emphasized the nation’s commitment to maintaining peace, security, and fostering international cooperation. He reiterated that, as a responsible United Nations member state, Iran is prepared to staunchly protect its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests against any offensive measures.

In the wake of signing an executive order aimed at reducing Iran’s oil exports to zero, former President Donald Trump issued a series of threats. These moves coincide with his assertion of a desire to pursue a new nuclear agreement with Iran.

The directive forms a component of the wider sanctions reintroduced following President Trump’s unilateral decision to withdraw the United States from the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2018.

In response to remarks made by former President Donald Trump, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Monday that while Iran is not in pursuit of conflict, it remains steadfast in its refusal to succumb to external pressure.

He went on to denounce the US president’s assertion that he is open to discussions with Iran, all the while reinstating the contentious “maximum pressure” strategy against Tehran.

Pezeshkian criticized former President Donald Trump, stating that while Trump calls for dialogue, he simultaneously endorses and promotes various strategies aimed at undermining the Islamic Revolution.
