Iran has not yet issued a response to the correspondence received from Trump

Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs has announced that the country has yet to respond to a letter from the United States. The minister stated that a response is currently being prepared and will be delivered through the appropriate channels in due course.

In a joint press conference held in Yerevan, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi articulated his statements alongside his Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan.

In a recent statement, it was articulated that there would be no direct negotiations with the United States amidst heightened military tensions and escalating sanctions. The official emphasized ongoing discussions with three European nations, affirming a steadfast commitment to remain engaged in diplomatic negotiations.

Araghchi expressed support for the recent progress between Armenia and Azerbaijan, noting their agreement on the draft of a peace treaty. He urged both parties to formalize this accord by signing the finalized document.

The Foreign Minister announced Iran’s commitment to fostering economic cooperation and opening trade routes, emphasizing the importance of respecting the territorial integrity of nations.

In a statement reiterating Iran’s commitment to regional stability, an official emphasized the nation’s support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of its neighboring countries. He declared, “The Islamic Republic of Iran firmly opposes any attempts at geopolitical shifts or alterations to existing international borders.”

Araghchi stated that in-depth discussions on bilateral relations were held today, noting a positive trend of growth across multiple sectors.

He stated that there is a robust dynamic in trade exchanges, the execution of joint economic ventures, interpersonal engagements, and tourism, as well as in scientific and cultural collaborations. Both nations have concurred on harnessing their capacities to further enhance bilateral relations.

In other parts of his address, he stated, “We hold the agreement between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan to be crucial for ensuring peace and stability within the Caucasus region, as well as for fostering economic cooperation in the area. Given the risk of escalating tensions in this region, we are hopeful that the signing of this peace agreement will mitigate such risks.”
