Iranian Foreign Minister Asserts the Ineffectiveness of US Maximum Pressure Strategy
The Iranian Foreign Minister downplayed the announcement by the U.S. President to extend what he described as the "so-called" measures.

During a press briefing on the margins of a cabinet meeting in Tehran on Wednesday, Iranian diplomat Abbas Araqchi addressed the recent action by US President Donald Trump, who signed a presidential memorandum reinstating Washington’s maximum pressure strategy against Iran, a policy that was prominently utilized during his previous term in office.
He stated that the policy of maximum pressure on Iran has proven to be ineffective and reiterated that pursuing such a strategy once more is unlikely to yield any successful outcomes.
Araqchi emphasized that efforts to block Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons are technically unwarranted, given that Iran is a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Furthermore, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Ummah, has issued an unequivocal fatwa banning the use of nuclear arms.
