Iran, Qatar stress unity among muslim nations

AhmadinejadIranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani called for unity and solidarity among the Muslim nations.

Referring to bilateral ties, the two sides called for expansion of cooperation in all arenas.

President Ahmadinejad said that Iran-Qatar relations are useful for the two countries and the entire region, indicating that Tehran welcomes expansion of bilateral ties in all fields.

Ahmadinejad underlined the Palestine issue, saying, ”If the Islamic countries especially the Persian Gulf states stay shoulder to shoulder for defending the Palestinians, there is no doubt that the Israeli systematic massacre of the Palestinians will stop and the Zionist regime will be subject to restrictions.”

Sheikh Hamad, for his part, cited the Islamic Republic of Iran as an effective country in the region, adding that Qatar will never change its strategic relations with Iran.

Emir of Qatar also expressed the hope that Iran and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) would upgrade ties in the near future, adding Doha is keen on cooperation with Tehran.
