Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army’s Elite Division Gets in Position to Launch Northern Lattakia Offensive

The Elite Forces of the 4th Armored Division of the Damascus Army reportedly positioned themselves to launch their long-awaited offensive in the Northern part of Lattakia province.

The Syrian Army, led by the 42nd Brigade (Ghiath Forces) of the 4th Armored Division, has moved its newly manufactured Golan missiles in position to attack the terrorists in Jabal Al-Akrad and Jabal Turkmen regions.

Among the areas that will be targeted in the upcoming offensive is the strategic town of Kabbani, which is located along the Eastern slope of Jabal Al-Akrad.

Kabbani has become the main stronghold for Tahrir Al-Sham and their allies in Northern Lattakia.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over the past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.

Lattakia

The Syrian Army’s elite forces of the 4th Armored Division reportedly positioned themselves to launch their long-awaited offensive in the Northern part of Lattakia province.

Led by the 42nd Brigade (Ghiath Forces) of the 4th Armored Division, the Syrian Army has moved their newly manufactured Golan missiles in position to attack the jihadist rebels in the Jabal Al-Akrad and Jabal Turkmen regions, the AMN reported.

Furthermore, thousands of soldiers from the 4th Armored Division and Republican Guard have moved to the front-lines in northern Lattakia, as they prepare to storm several areas controlled by the terrorists.

Among the areas that will be targeted in the upcoming offensive is the strategic town of Kabbani, which is situation along the eastern slope of Jabal Al-Akrad.

Kabbani has become the main stronghold for Tahrir Al-Sham and their allies in Northern Lattakia.

The Army has attempted to capture Kabbani on several occasions in the past; however, their attacks have often fallen short of their main objective.

According to a military source in Lattakia, the Syrian Army is expected to kickoff this offensive within next five days, as they look to expel the remaining terrorists from this coastal province.

Aleppo

Jeish al-Islam terrorist group has deployed its fighters at contact lines with the Syrian Army in Eastern Aleppo after coordination with Turkey-backed militants, the London-based pro-opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on Monday.

SOHR said that Jeish al-Islam has started deploying militants in more than ten contact points with the Syrian Army in Tadif in Northeastern Aleppo after coordination with Ankara-backed Ahrar al-Sharqiyeh.

It further said that Jeish al-Islam set up a large base in the town of Afrin after retreating from Eastern Ghouta, adding Jeish al-Islam stationed its fighters in Afrin base.

SOHR said that Jeish al-Islam has also set up several bases in Aleppo province.

In the meantime, the Syrian Army dispatched more troops and equipment to the contact lines with Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) in a large region from Jam’iyat al-Zahra and al-Lairamoun industrial zone up to the small town of Kafr Hamra in Northwestern Aleppo and from al-Malah farms to the small towns of Haraytan, Hayan, Anadan and Bayanoun in Northern Aleppo.

Also, the army has forwarded a large number of forces and military hardware to contact lines with Ankara-backed terrorists known as the Olive Branch Forces in Aleppo province.

Hama

Khalid al-Hassan, a notorious terrorist commander, was killed after the Syrian Army’s artillery units opened heavy fire at the terrorists’ positions in Northwestern Hama over the past 24 hours.

The artillery units shelled terrorists’ positions in the village of al-Karakat in Northwestern Hama, killing Khalid al-Hassan nom de guerre Abu al-Walid Karnaz, a field commander of Ahrar al-Sham and National Liberation Front.

In the meantime, the Syrian Air Force carried out a number of combat flights over terrorists’ positions in the towns of Kafr Zita and al-Latamina in Northern Hama, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

Other artillery and missile units pounded terrorists’ bases in the town of al-Zakat in Northern Hama and in the villages of Bab al-Taqa, al-Hamra, Qala Mazif and al-Huwayez in Northwestern Hama.

Deir Ezzur

The US Army sent a new convoy of vehicles to its base in Eastern Deir Ezzur on Monday to boost its military presence in the region.

The US army dispatched two convoys, including tens of trucks to the regions that are under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on the Eastern bank of the Euphrates River.

The trucks that were carrying a large volume of logistic and military equipment and a number of fresh forces were dispatched to the US-run al-Sousah base in Eastern Deir Ezzur.

The US has recently dispatched several convoys to strengthen its presence in Northeastern and Eastern Syria.

In the meantime, local sources in Hasaka province reported that the US has also sent a convoy of a hundred trucks carrying military hardware from Iraq to the SDF-held regions via Simalka border-crossing.
