Iraqi forces regain more ground in fighting ISIL

Iraqi forces continue to advance and retake areas in the center of Tikrit from ISIL militants. Press TV team crossed the Shishin Valley and got hundred and fifty meters from the Tikrit hospital where ISIL snipers are located.

Now we are a hundred and fifty meters away from Tikrit hospital. The ISIL snipers are trying to target this area particularly because it has the Iraqi armed forces and volunteer forces here and the volunteer forces are trying to attack the militants inside the hospital so they can get rid of the snipers that are inside. The Iraqi air forces are trying to cover the forces that are with air strikes to also attack ISIL militants and conduct air strikes against them that are inside the hospital to secure the hospital totally getting inside the hospital for the Iraqi forces means getting the center of Tikrit under their control.

While taking an interview from one of the soldiers an ISIL sniper shot towards us.

Iraqi forces stationed here have equipment which allows them to hear ISIL voice on the Woki Toki and expect their actions. We are able to hear that they will target our location with mortal shells.
Iraqi forces said that in the coming few hours they will advance more and maybe retake control of the hospital.
