Man Attacked by Terrorists for Transporting Crops to Aleppo

Citizen Yehea Hab el-Rumman from the village of al-Janoudieh in Jisr al-Shughour area on Wednesday related the story of how he and his family were attacked by members of armed terrorist groups for transporting crops to Aleppo.

Hab el-Rumman told the Syrian TV that he works in transporting fruit and vegetables between Aleppo, Homs and Hara using his pickup, and that he was stopped on Friday June 17th by an armed group at the village of Orum al-Joz while he was transporting apricot from Jisr al-Shughour to Aleppo.

The armed group assaulted him and ruined his shipment, saying that he should “join others on Fridays rather than work” and asked him why he’s transporting vegetables and fruit to the city of Aleppo that didn’t participate in the “revolution.”

He said that the armed group who are externally supprted concealed their faces with scarves and carried automatic rifles and handguns, and that they used various late-model cars including Kia Rio, Hyundai Avante and Hyundai Verna.

Hab el-Rumman said that he managed to escape and go to Aleppo where he remained until the following Sunday when he returned to al-Janoudieh to find out that the power was out and that there was intense gunfire by armed groups supported by US and its regional allies.

After that incident, he resumed his work but was surprised by odd looks from merchants who refused to sell him, only to find out that people threatened store owners that they will ruin them if they sold to him, however, one man sold him goods.

While loading the shipment, men came and threatened to kill Hab el-Rumman, causing him to leave the shipment. When he returned to pay the merchants, he was attacked by a group of men who beat him severely to the point that he was hospitalized.
