Rohani may introduce cabinet on inauguration day

938593_orig (1) President-elect Hassan Rohani has said that he will try to introduce his cabinet to the parliament for approval on his inauguration day.
The inauguration ceremony is tentatively scheduled for August 4.

Rohani made the remarks on Saturday during a meeting with a number of MPs.

According to the report, he also said that the problems facing the country could be resolved through effective interaction between the three branches of government.

In an interview with the Mehr News Agency, Ali Motahhari, one of the MPs who attended the meeting, quoted Rohani as saying that the administration and the Majlis should carry out a mutually agreed analysis of the country’s current situation in order to be able to deal with the problems.

Motahhari also said that during the meeting the MPs and the new Iranian president mostly discussed the ways to increase cooperation between the new administration and the Majlis.

In addition, he said that the MPs highlighted the importance of respecting the people’s choice, honoring election pledges, and not being influenced by the extremists’ commotion.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the lawmakers said that the MPs who attended the meeting were the MPs who had a leaning toward Rohani’s views.

MP Mehdi Sanaei also told the MNA that Rohani had asked the MPs to present their views about the cabinet until the inauguration day.

Rohani also expressed hope that the Majlis would help the administration to efficiently perform its duties, Sanaei said.

In addition, the lawmaker said that the majority of MPs were ready to cooperate with the new administration.
