Survey Reveals 40% of Americans Label Trump as ‘Terrible’ Amid Declining Approval Ratings

A recent poll reveals that approximately 40% of Americans perceive Trump as having been a "terrible" leader during his second term.

According to a report by The Hill, a survey conducted by the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows that approximately 20% believe Trump has performed at an average level in his presidency, while 30% rate him as a great or good leader.

According to the poll, 24 percent of adults believe Trump is concentrating on the appropriate priorities.

According to a recent AP-NORC poll, 44% of respondents believe Trump is concentrating on the wrong priorities. Meanwhile, 21% of those surveyed noted there is an even mix in his focus, and 10% remain uncertain.

The declining figures align with national polls indicating a decrease in favorability and approval ratings for Trump.

Survey responses showcased a stark divergence in opinions, largely influenced by party affiliation.

The Republican Party expressed strong support for Trump’s decisions during his initial months back in the Oval Office.

A recent survey indicates that a majority of 54 percent of Republican members believe Trump is concentrating on the appropriate matters. Meanwhile, 26 percent feel he is addressing a balanced range of issues, while 13 percent express concern that his priorities are misplaced.

Tanner Bergstrom, a 29-year-old Republican from Minnesota, informed the Associated Press that Trump is fulfilling his promises.

He remarked that Trump is delivering on his commitments rather than making promises that go unfulfilled once in office. He appreciates this approach, noting that although there may be policies he disagrees with, it demonstrates a fulfillment of stated intentions.

A significant portion of Democrats tend to diverge from these perspectives, with 75% of the party’s members believing that Trump has misplaced priorities, while 11% express that his focus is a balance of both positive and negative elements.

Gabriel Antonucci, a 26-year-old Democrat from South Carolina, expressed his discontent to the Associated Press, stating, “It appears that Trump is consistently making poor decisions.” Antonucci further speculated that the situation might deteriorate over the next four years.

A survey reveals that 42 percent of Independent voters feel Trump is focused on the wrong priorities, while 30 percent view his priorities as an even mix. Additionally, 9 percent agree he is misguided in his focus, and 19 percent remain uncertain.

The AP-NORC poll conducted an extensive survey involving 1,260 adults between April 17 and April 21, utilizing the probability-based AmeriSpeak method. The poll results come with a margin of sampling error of approximately 3.9 percentage points.
