US to give military support to militants fighting Syrian government

US Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes says the president of United States has decided to provide militants fighting the Syrian government with military support.

Senior Republican US Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham welcomed the move, but said in a statement that “more decisive actions” were needed.
Last year, US President Barack Obama said Syria’s crossing the red line would prompt the US to become more involved in the conflict in the Arab country by providing the militants with military support.
Former US President Bill Clinton said on Tuesday that Washington’s failure to intervene in the conflict there would be “a bad mistake.”
