The United States and its Wahhabi allies in the Persian Gulf region are responsible for terrorist attacks across the world, especially the latest one in Pakistan, says a journalist.

Hafsa Kara-Mustapha, also a Middle East expert from London, said in an interview with Press TV that the United States and Saudi Arabia should be held accountable for the December 16 attack on a military-run school in Pakistan’s northwestern city of Peshawar.

“The responsibility of the US and the some countries such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar is very much at the heart of this issue,” she said.

The terrorist groups which are now wreaking havoc in Pakistan were once created by Washington and its allies in order to counter the former Soviet Union’s military presence in Afghanistan during the 1970s.

The journalist also blamed Riyadh for fueling militancy in South Asia and the Middle East.

“Wahhabi ideology is responsible for brainwashing” of young members of these terrorist groups, she added.

The analyst concluded by saying that “every single US intervention has led to more bloodshed and developed a bad situation.”

A group of Taliban militants dressed in military uniforms stormed the school in Peshawar, walking from classroom to classroom and shooting at students. The attack claimed the lives of over 140 people, mostly children, and injured scores of others.

The Pakistani army launched a major offensive against militant hideouts in North Waziristan on June 15 after a deadly militant raid on Karachi Airport ended the government’s faltering peace talks with Taliban.
