Yemen Strikes Back: CENTCOM Claims Yemeni Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile and Drones Launched Over Gulf of Aden
In a statement issued on Wednesday, US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that coalition ships encountered three drones and an anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) over the Gulf of Aden, allegedly launched by the Yemeni Armed Forces.
According to CENTCOM, the drones were launched between 11:02 pm and 11:48 pm on Tuesday, with one ASBM fired around 5:00 am on Wednesday. While the first two drones were shot down and the third one crashed, no injuries or damages were reported by US vessels, their allies, or commercial ships.

The statement from CENTCOM emphasized that these weapons posed a significant threat to both coalition forces and merchant vessels in the region.
This incident occurred just a day after CENTCOM announced the interception of a drone from Yemen over the Red Sea.
Prior to this, Sanaa had declared the initiation of stage four of its operations in support of Palestine, with plans to expand the scope of attacks to include the Mediterranean Sea. Yemen also threatened to target any ship docking in occupied Palestinian ports as a response to potential Israeli aggression in Rafah.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have warned that any ships within their reach could be considered legitimate targets.
